Writing: Capitals and Full Stops

LEARNING INTENTION
To use capitals and full stops correctly

SUCCESS CRITERIA
I only have capitals at the beginning or an idea and a name.
My sentences end with a full stop.

COMMENT
Billy's writing was multi-structural this week as he was putting his capitals and lower case letters in the correct place some of the time.

LEARNING INTENTION

To sculpt an animal out of dough

SUCCESS CRITERIA

I can sculpt an animal out of dough that:

- Resembles the animal

- Is proportioned well

Topic: Habitat

LEARNING INTENTION
What changes do I need to make to protect a habitat?

SUCCESS CRITERIA
I can identify...
- A habitat
- A danger to the habitat
- How I could protect the habitat from that danger.

BILLY'S COMMENT
My habitat is a Savanna. A danger is a person lighting a fire on a tree. I could protect a habitat by putting a no fire sign.

Reading: Poetry and Rhyme

Te Reo: Mihi

LEARNING INTENTION
I am learning to introduce myself in Te Reo Māori

SUCCESS CRITERIA
I can say...
- My name
- My Mum and Dad's name
- My friend, teacher, and house colour

Maths: Statistics

LEARNING INTENTION
We are learning to conduct a statistical investigation and present the data in a bar graph.

SUCCESS CRITERIA
My Investigation will...
- Have a subject (Habitats)
- Have at least 4 options, including "Other"
- I will have asked at least 15 people and recorded their responses with tally marks

My Bar Graph will...
- Show the options down the side
- Represent the results of my investigation

Reading: Character and Setting

LEARNING INTENTION
To identify a character and a setting from a story

SUCCESS CRITERIA
I will be able to name a character from the story I have read and tell you something about that character.
I will be able to identify the settings from the story.

MR HORN SAYS...
Good work Billy, your next step is to start thinking about what the characters like or dislike.

Writing: Editing and Publishing

LEARNING INTENTION
We are learning to edit and publish our writing.

SUCCESS CRITERIA
To edit we have to:
- Correct Spelling
- Make sure out punctuation is correct
- Check it makes sense

To publish we have to:
- Write as neat as we can
- Write on every line

CARE - Bronze

SUCCESS CRITERIA

I have earned my Bronze CARE Certificate

Maths: Before and After

LEARNING INTENTION

I am learning to identify the number before and the number after up to 20

SUCCESS CRITERIA

I can write the number before and number after each of these numbers

NEXT STEP

My next step is to do this with numbers up to 50

Music - Rhythm

I can mimic the pattern with an instrument

In Room 20 we love to write, each week we publish a piece of writing and during guided writing sessions Mr Horn chooses a "Star Writer" someone who worked hard on their personal learning goal or on their groups Learning Intention. My published stories and any "Star Writer" stories I write will be put into this Slideshow.
